Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956) was a world-renowned jurist, economist, social reformer, and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. Born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, into a poor Dalit family, he faced severe discrimination from childhood. The importance of education in human life was known to him very well as a disciple of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.
Ambedkar put up a valiant fight against inequality and prejudice based on caste. As chairman of the Indian Constitution drafting committee, he was instrumental in ensuring that all citizens would have social justice, equality, and fundamental rights. His input resulted in the addition of clauses prohibiting untouchability and caste discrimination.
The motto of Dr. Ambedkar behind this was his vision towards education as a true means of reconstructing the new social order based on equality, freedom, justice and fraternity. He dreamt of an institution where student would hold their heads high and awake into the world of knowledge, prosperity and dignity and would strive to achieve the goal of socio-economic democracy in the country.
The P. E. Society Started various colleges imparting education of different branches of knowledge and they are proved to be worthy to the dream of its founder.
In order to provide legal education to the poor and unprivileged class of the society so that they may have adequate representation in the field of law and judiciary the Siddharth College of Law was established in June, 1956. The college is named after 'Siddharth' to commemorate the noble ideals and teachings of Lord Buddha and housed in Fort area at Anand Bhavan which is a convenient place for the earners and learners.
