Chairman's Message
Shri. Ramdas B. Athawale
Chairman - People's Education Society's
Hon'ble Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment,
Government of India
The People's Education Society (PES) was founded on 8th July 1945 with a profound vision by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, who believed that education is the true instrument of social and economic transformation. The primary objective of the Society is to make quality education accessible to all, especially to those from the weaker and underprivileged sections of society. Through education, we aim to awaken minds, uplift communities, and create individuals who are aware of their rights and duties as citizens of a democratic nation.
The Society stands firmly committed to the ideals of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, as enshrined in our Constitution. It strives to create an environment where every learner can grow intellectually, morally, and socially—becoming an active participant in building a just and inclusive nation. The People's Education Society continues to carry forward the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar's dream—to cultivate enlightened citizens who are fearless in the pursuit of truth and unwavering in their commitment to justice.
In pursuance of these ideals, Siddharth College of Law holds a special place as one of the foremost institutions established under the aegis of the People's Education Society. The college stands as a symbol of empowerment through education, upholding the noble mission envisioned by Dr. Ambedkar and carried forward with dedication and responsibility.
At Siddharth College of Law, we believe that legal education is not merely the study of laws but the shaping of minds capable of interpreting, reforming, and upholding justice in society. Our mission is not only to educate but also to elevate every student—to inspire them to become guardians of justice, equality, and human rights.
The legal profession carries immense responsibility in building a fair and progressive society. Therefore, our students are encouraged to be fearless in defending truth, firm in upholding constitutional values, and compassionate toward the underprivileged. We are dedicated to nurturing such leaders who are prepared to stand strong against discrimination, inequality, and social injustice.
To translate these ideals into action, the college provides opportunities for students to engage in legal aid activities, community service, and social justice initiatives, enabling them to gain practical exposure and contribute meaningfully to society. Through these experiences, our learners understand not only the power of law but also the moral responsibility it carries in ensuring justice for all.
As Chairman of the People's Education Society, I take immense pride in witnessing the growth and progress of Siddharth College of Law and the transformative role it continues to play in shaping young legal minds.
I extend my best wishes to all students, faculty members, and staff. Let us continue our collective journey toward a more equal, dignified, and just nation—a society where every voice is heard, every right is respected, and every citizen is protected by the law.
Together, let us keep alive the legacy of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and move forward with faith in the transformative power of education.
Chairman
